What this site collects
SwimSeasonCheck has no accounts, sign-up forms or newsletter, and it does not ask for personal information to show you a city. The city search runs in your browser. The hosting provider, Firebase Hosting (Google), automatically records standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, which are used for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies and advertising
SwimSeasonCheck does not currently set advertising cookies or run analytics. If advertising is added, this section will name the vendors and cookies involved before they go live.
Data sources are not data about you
Climate, sunshine and energy-price figures come from NOAA, NASA, the U.S. Energy Information Administration and the Census Bureau. No personal data is exchanged with them. SwimSeasonCheck does not sell personal information.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA and similar laws elsewhere give you rights over personal information, including to know what is held, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising. For anything SwimSeasonCheck itself holds, which is limited to the hosting logs above, email hello@swimseasoncheck.com.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
